May 2011: One of Melbournes most revered hotels, the Botanical, reopened its doors in November 2010 after a significant renovation and has emerged as one of Melbournes most exciting dining and drinking destinations.

Superbly located adjacent to the famous Botanic Gardens, the Botanical underwent a $4 million renovation by leading Melbourne design firm Webb +, transforming it into a multi-faceted venue complete with formal restaurant, informal wine store and café, a bar and lounge for more serious drinkers and the alfresco-inspired Archer Room’ for casual dining and private events.

"With the Botanical, we have created an all inclusive venue combining a variety of quite separate but interlinked spaces, catering for every occasion," says General Manager, Peter Baker.

The Botanical presents agenerous, family style menu in the restaurant, Wine Store and bar. It is a celebration ofProvencial French/ Mediterranean cuisine, incorporating only the highest quality, sustainable produce.

The restaurant has a capacity for 80 diners including a Chefs Table, crafted from a fallen tree in the Botanic Gardens. It provides a formal dining experience with the gravitas of dark-stained solid oak tables lightened by the edgy contemporary artworks of Melbourne artist, Janenne Eaton.

The Botanicals restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, lunch only on Sundays. The Wine Store from 7am till late seven days and the Bar from 12noon till late seven days.
Please note we do not allow BYO cakes unless it is for a special occasion to be hosted in one of our private spaces of which will then incur a $5 charge per person.
